Philosophy
Agile Development or Rapid Prototyping? Whatever you call it, our temperaments, and latest web platforms, support a highly incremental release cycle. We want to produce simple but effective components that we can deploy quickly and generate revenue and feedback early in the development cycle. The key is to build an elegant and extensible core technology, then deploy basic services. It's easier to add multiple services, scale the business, and support customers... when you actually have some! With SaaS and AWS we can iterate in release cycles measured in weeks. It's refreshing to be released from the tyranny of the MBA marketing types who can't bring themselves to decide between "must have" and "nice to have". And always set the release cycles so far away that after 6 months of development, they always have a whole bunch of "absolutely must have" (that is secretly a bunch of "oops, I didn't even think of this, until I saw one of our competitors at a trade show") which now need another6 months of development, before they can possibly release the product for testing (let alone real, live customers). Yup, iSyndica is an engineering team!
